Robert joined his first band while in high school.  By his early 20s, he was on the road with his own band. He released his first album, Who's Been Talking, in 1980. But it was not until Bad Influence in 1983 that he began to garner wider recognition. In 1987, his album Strong Persuader became the most successful blues album in more than two decades. The same year, he was invited by Keith Richards to join the backing band for Chuck Berry in the film, Chuck Berry: Hail! Hail! Rock 'N' Roll. Besides jamming with Eric Clapton over the years, he supported Eric on the road in 1987 and 2006/07, was part of Eric's "Blues Nights" lineups in 1990/91 and appeared at all five Crossroads Guitar Festivals. STEVE GADD is one of the most well-known and highly regarded drummers in the music industry. He began playing drums at three and at eleven sat in with Dizzy Gillespie. He attended the Manhattan School of Music before transferring to Rochester’s Eastman School of Music. Simultaneously, he played in clubs at night with Chick Corea, Chuck Mangione, Joe Romano and Frank Pullara. After college, Steve was drafted and spent three years in the U.S. Army Band. In 1972, he moved to New York City and quickly established himself as one of the most in-demand session players in the recording industry. Since then, he has recorded with Aretha Franklin, Steve Wonder, Chick Corea, Paul McCartney, Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, Barbra Streisand, George Benson, Steely Dan, Quincy Jones, Carly Simon, Joe Cocker, James Brown, Michel Petrucciani, to mention a few. Steve has also released his own albums and has toured regularly. Steve is just as busy as he ever with one of the most intense recording and touring schedules in the business, including spending time in the studio and on the road with Eric Clapton, James Taylor, and his own group, the Steve Gadd Band. Steve has performed with Eric at the 2004, 2010 and 2019 Crossroads Guitar Festivals plus the 1999 Crossroads Concert at Madison Square Garden. DANIEL SANTIAGO hails from Brasilia. He began studying music as a child and was influenced by Jazz, Classical, Rock, MPB, and Choro. At 19, he founded his first band the Brasilia-Brasil Trio. The band's first album, Abre Alas, was released in 2001. A road warrier, he has toured regularly with Hamilton de Holanda's quintet, João Bosco Band, and for his own solo projects. He has collaborated with many artists like Milton Nascimento, Lee Ritenour, Ivan Lins, Maria Bethania, John Paul Jones, Toninho Horta, Cassandra Wilson, and Didier Lockwood to name a few. Daniel released his first solo album, On The Way, in 2006. His most recent album is Simbiose, a collaboration with Pedro Martins. Daniel made his first Crossroad Guitar Festival appearance in 2019. ABOUT TURN UP FOR RECOVERYTurn up for Recovery is a charitable movement aiming to raise awareness of abstinence-based recovery, tackle the stigma of addiction and help make treatment affordable to people struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. The idea for Turn up for Recovery (TUFR) came to founder, Melia Clapton, while walking her dog. She wanted to tackle the stigma around addiction and alcoholism and raise awareness about the power of abstinence based recovery. It’s a topic very close to her heart, having supported family members throughout their recovery. Her vision is for an inclusive community of artists, music lovers and those affected by addiction coming together to have a good time, talk about recovery and raise money for others to get the help that they need. Melia announced the movement in September 2019 during Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival in Dallas, Texas. It has been gaining momentum ever since. The Turn Up From Home concert series is the organization's newest initiative.
