Michelle John Tonight On The Voice UK

[13 March Update:  Michelle made it through the Live Knockout Round on Saturday, 11 March. She now heads to the Quarter Finals on The Voice UK.]

Michelle John, a backing vocalist for EC, is fighting to keep her place on The Voice UK tonight, 11 March. If you live in the UK, be sure to tune in to ITV at 8:30pm. (Unfortunately, due to her continued success on the show, she won’t be part of the band for the Spring 2017 concerts.)

The public can vote for their favourites for free using the official The Voice UK app. IOS and Android versions can be downloaded here

EC Band Lineup Change For Spring Shows

Due to Michelle John's continued success on The Voice UK, Sharlotte Gibson will be stepping in for Eric Clapton's Spring Concerts. Michelle won her recent Battle Round as part of Team and now moves on to the live knockout rounds of the show.

Sharlotte has her family roots in New Orleans and has forged a career as a singer and songwriter. Sharlotte spent six seasons on American Idol to performing and recording with Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, and Kelly Clarkson.

Michelle John On The Voice UK

Michelle John, who has been one of Eric Clapton's backing vocalists since 2004, is heading to the battle rounds on The Voice UK! Battle Rounds start late February on ITV.

Before her blind audition, Michelle told The Voice UK that she's looking to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight singing her songs as a solo artist. Michelle brought down the house with her spin on "It's A Man's Man's World." All four judges were clearly impressed, but was the one who pushed the button telling her,"Your voice grabbed me. Your voice reached out and pushed the button.

Showtime To Release Eric Clapton: A Life In 12 Bars

Director Lili Fini Zanuck has announced that Eric Clapton: A Life In 12 Bars will be distributed in North America by Showtime Documentary Films. Later this year, it will be shown at domestic and international film festivals followed by a U.S. and Canadian theatrical run. In 2018, it will be televised on Showtime.

UK and international distribution will be handled by Altitude Films; no theatrical or broadcast details were announced.

Eric Clapton: A Life in 12 Bars

Eric Clapton’s life and career will get the feature documentary treatment in Eric Clapton: A Life in 12 Bars. The team behind the film has unprecedented access to an archive of classic performance clips, on- and off-stage footage, photos, concert posters as well as the musician's handwritten letters, drawings and diary entries.

The film will be directed by Lili Fini Zanuck, who helmed Rush. That 1991 crime drama was scored by Clapton and featured “Tears In Heaven.”
