EC Closes 42nd Dresden Music Festival

Cellist Jan Vogler is special guest for entire acoustic set On June 10, Eric Clapton headlined the closing concert of the 42nd Dresden Music Festival at the Messe Dresden. It was his first-ever concert in the city and the final date of his short tour of Germany and Austria. Vogler, a renowned cellist, is the artistic director of the Dresden Festival and invited Eric to perform. He is well known for including musicians from other genres in the classical music festival lineup. The high point of the concert was the five-song acoustic set, which featured Jan Vogler on cello.

Eric Clapton dedicates "Tears In Heaven" to Dr. John"Layla" played twice ... unplugged and plugged June 8 at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany was the penultimate show of Eric Clapton's short jaunt through Austria and Germany. Fans leaving the arena were raving about the amazing night which included acoustic and electric "Layla" plus a tribute to the late great Malcolm John Rebennack, best known by his stage name, Dr. John. Eric kicked off the show with a high-energy "Pretending". With each succeeding song, the show went from strength to strength.
