    [Updated] On 20 March, Eric Clapton again joined The Allman Brothers Band on stage at New York City's Beacon Theatre for a seven-song set that left those in attendance speechless. Although the 19th was an excellent performance, the 20th was one of those magic nights that music fans live for. One fan wrote to Where's Eric, "Astonishing. I had anticipated Clapton playing humble sideman, but Eric's presence pushed the band through the roof from the moment he took the stage. As a confessed Cream-era devotee, seeing EC play in that scenario / venue was like a dream.

    On 20 March, Eric Clapton joined the Allman Brothers Band on stage at The Beacon Theatre in New York City for the second of two historic guest appearances. The only other guest was Danny Louis of Gov't Mule, who sat in on "Forty-Four" and "Layla". Oteil Burbridge opened the show by performing "Little Martha" solo on bass. Mountain Jam was the first full song performed by the band and they returned to it to close out the first set.

    [Updated] Following more than a decade of annual rumours that "Clapton's going to jam with the Allman Brothers at the Beacon this year" and two recent reports in Rolling Stone online,the wishful thinking of music fans finally came true on 19 March 2009. One fan in attendance emailed Where's Eric! with the low down shortly after the concert ended. From the opening notes of the concert, expectations were running high that Eric Clapton would indeed appear. The excitement continued to build throughout the Allman Brothers first set. By intermission, the atmosphere was truly electric.
