EC Wraps First Leg Of 2014 Tour

After 7 performances in Japan, Eric Clapton, his band and crew hit the road for a show in Singapore on March 4. From there, it was off to Dubai on March 6 and Bahrain on March 8 for his first appearances in those countries. The 2014 Tour is now on hiatus until April 27, when Eric headlines the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for the first time. The band lineup for the just completed gigs was:

Clapton In Japan: Final Night In Tokyo

Eric Clapton wrapped up his 2014 Japan Tour at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on February 28. The venue was also the site of his first concert in Japan on October 31, 1974. In the tour program which celebrated his 40 years of touring the country, Eric wrote, "I may not be able to come back again." So, for many Japanese fans, it was an extra special and very emotional night. At the beginning of Layla, Eric said to them, "I've been coming here for forty years, before some of you were born. It's the best place I've ever played.

Clapton In Japan: Osaka

Eric Clapton brought his 2014 Tour to Osaka-Jo Hall on February 26 playing a two-hour concert of 18 songs for a sold out crowd. This first leg of the tour also celebrates 40 years of performing in Japan for the guitarist. Included in the set were some of his most beloved hits like "Pretending," "Wonderful Tonight," "Layla," "I Shot The Sheriff" "Cocaine," and "Tears In Heaven" interspersed with deeper album cuts and blues.
