Keith Richards has revealed that Eric Clapton has a guest spot on the new Rolling Stones record due this fall. The blues-themed disc was recorded in London and helmed by producer Don Was. Keith told Matt Everitt of BBC 6 Music "Eric Clapton dropped by for a couple of numbers and it was like old times down in Richmond." Early in their careers, both the Stones and the Clapton-era Yardbirds performed at Richmond's Crawdaddy Club, run by Giorgio Gomelsky.
Andy Fairweather Low and his band, The Low Riders, are heading to the United States for three concerts on the east coast. They'll be at BB Kings in New York City on September 13th, at Daryl's House in Pawling, New York on the14th and Havana in New Hope, Pennsylvania on the 17th. Then, it's back to the UK and Europe for gigs through the end of the year.
On July 23, one of two Fender Stratocasters played by Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall for his 70th Birthday Shows in 2015 will be sold by Heritage Auctions on behalf of former Asleep At The Wheel guitarist Johnny Nicholas. The guitar was offered to the family by Eric to help raise money for medical bills when Johnny's wife was diagnosed with Leukemia. Sadly, Brenda Nicholas lost her battle with the disease in mid-June.
